Science and spirituality have split the public`s opinions on the matter of reincarnation. The two sides are evident; science proponents believe biological death to be the absolute end of our human experience, whereas spiritualists believe that our bodies are physical vessels for an eternal energetic aspect of our consciousness called the soul, which implants itself into a new body after the previous body has died.
Many popular religions, such as Christianity and Catholicism, also refute the idea of reincarnation because it contradicts the belief systems within the theologies which state that there is a place where sinners go after death called “Hell” and a place where the devoted go called “Heaven”. It becoming knowledge that the major religions were used as a control mechanism to manipulate the masses through the use of fear.
It wasn’t until around the 17th century when science began to influence people’s belief systems due to the continued development of the scientific method and advancements with the laws of nature. This system challenged any truth that had no physical proof, and so began science’s dominance in human society.
The scientific systems that were established provided many innovations and advancements for the human race, but there were still many questions that could not be answered by the scientific community such as various paranormal phenomena and other impossible ‘miracles’ in nature.
The 20th century ignited a new wave of science that dealt with the exploration of consciousness, psychedelics, and paranormal psychology that collectively aimed to connect the spiritual and scientific communities.
Instances of near death and out-of-body experiences during which people were consciously aware, after being declared clinically dead, began to test the hard facts that science had previously established. Today these cases are still widely reported and there are remarkable similarities between the reports all over the world.
Dr. Pim van Lommel, a cardiologist in the Netherlands, conducted the largest hospital-based study of NDEs (Near Death Experiences), years after hearing a patient report seeing a tunnel, a light, and beautiful colors and hearing wonderful music during a clinical death in 1969. Dr. Lommel was inspired to research the matter further after hearing a detailed near death experience of someone who had been clinically dead for six minutes.
“After reading [this] book I started to interview my patients who had survived a cardiac arrest. To my great surprise, within two years about fifty patients told me about their NDE…. So, in 1988 we started a prospective study of 344 consecutive survivors of cardiac arrest in ten Dutch hospitals…. 62 patients (18%) reported some recollection of the time of clinical death…. About 50% of the patients with an NDE reported awareness of being dead, or had positive emotions, 30% reported moving through a tunnel, had an observation of a celestial landscape, or had a meeting with deceased relatives. About 25% of the patients with an NDE had an out-of-body experience, had communication with ‘the light’ or observed colours, 13% experienced a life review, and 8% experienced a border…. Patients with a NDE did not show any fear of death, they strongly believed in an afterlife, and their insight in what is important in life had changed: love and compassion for oneself, for others, and for nature. They now understood the cosmic law that everything one does to others will ultimately be returned to oneself: hatred and violence as well as love and compassion. Remarkably, there was often evidence of increased intuitive feelings.” (David Wilcock’s ‘The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You’)
Evidence of life after death continued to rise with the ground-breaking addition of work from hypnotherapists such as Dolores Cannon, Dr. Ian Stevenson and Dr. Michael Newton. With over 50 years of client-session information documenting people’s subconscious memories of past lives and even memories of the time in between two lives, something has to be said about evidence from the doctor’s research supporting reincarnation.
Dr. Newton explains that people under hypnosis are not dreaming or hallucinating— and in this state they are not capable of lying. They report whatever they see and hear in their subconscious minds as if everything is a literal observation. While under hypnosis, it is possible for them to misinterpret something they are seeing, but they will not report on anything they do not feel to be the literal truth.
“I also found that it did not matter if a person was an atheist, deeply religious, or believed in any philosophical persuasion in between— once they were in the proper superconscious state of hypnosis, all were consistent in their reports….” Dr. Newton in David Wilcock’s ‘The Synchronicity Key: The Hidden Intelligence Guiding the Universe and You’.
^^ Dr. Michael Newton discussing how past-life regression became a part of his practice^^
Interestingly, Dr. Newton also reported that many clients were hesitant to reveal too much about their time between lives, almost as if they were following a universal code of ethics of sorts, where the information was not supposed to be revealed to mankind for a reason. Over the years Dr. Newton noted similarities among client’s descriptions, ultimately putting together a picture of the process that our soul goes through from the moment we ‘die’ to the moment we are ‘reborn’. These are the stages that he described:
1.) Death and departure – Most clients recall looking down at their body and seeing people mourning over their death. Some people reported staying around their loved ones until after their funeral. During this time clients could feel a pull towards a light, and described a tunnel of sorts to get there.
2.) Gateway to the spirit world – This is the stage where clients report moving through the tunnel and reaching the light at the end. Location of the tunnel varies, as some say it appears right above their bodies and others say they have to travel above the Earth to reach it. After reaching the end of the tunnel clients almost always describe in varying ways beautiful visions, music, and scenery. Dr. Newton suggests that these images are beloved memories from our lives, to help give a feeling of familiarity during such an overwhelming process. Younger souls may feel sad or confused during this time, and it’s reported that their guides will come to assist and comfort.
3.) Homecoming – Here we are greeted by souls who are close to us. They appear as luminous beings who sometimes project faces of people who are still ‘alive’ in a physicality because our souls only project a certain percentage of itself into the physical body, so there will always be a part of the soul existing in the spirit realm. During this stage the soul begins to remember more about the afterlife and also their previous lives, feeling more at ease with the process. Souls which have committed murder or suicide will analyze their actions with their guide and decide on an appropriate path to begin almost immediately.
4.) Orientation – During the orientation stage a soul will shed any regret/doubt/sadness/traumatic memories from its previous life by going through what clients describe as a ‘shower of light’. This renews the soul’s vibrancy and restores it to its original vibration. Afterwards, we discuss with our guide everything that has happened in our life and decide whether or not we lived up to our expectations about how we dealt with those incidents and if the lessons need to be repeated in the next life.
5.) Transition – After we have completed our light shower and have worked through our previous life, we then move onto what most describe as the most breathtaking visions of the entire journey. Here we see a mega-hub of souls at the same stage, all moving through beautiful tunnels of light to their destination. Clients describe this moment as exciting because there is no darkness, just pure light, and we are also on our way to meet up with our soul family, souls who are at a similar stage in their evolution and who we shared lives with. Once we meet up with these souls, we usually compare experiences and learn from each other. These are souls that we keep reincarnating with over and over again, playing various roles with each other such as partners, brothers/sisters, parents, children, etc. Sometimes souls will be present but dimmer and quieter than others, and that is because they are still projecting a physicality at that moment. Another crucial aspect of this stage is to meet a grand counsel that oversees our previous life, going into more detail about the experiences and lessons learned.
6.) Placement – This stage is almost like a school where larger groups of soul families (up to thousands) who incarnate around each other in cycles learn about their previous experiences. Here clients report projecting into specific scenes from their previous life and into other people’s minds to gain a full understanding of the larger picture. Here we feel what others felt to learn how we hurt people in certain situations. This stage can also see the larger soul groups connecting in circles, sharing more ideas, singing, and experiencing other joyful events.
7.) Life selection – During this stage we move to a large sphere of light where we then choose our next life path. We are able to see multiple paths and are able to temporarily project into these lives to feel which one would be most appropriate. We also have the ability to fast forward through the timelines to see critical events that will happen. Some souls will choose greater challenges to experience such as a disability or premature death.
8.) Choosing a new body – This process is a part of the previous life selection stage, but has a separate categorization because it focuses on the physical appearance that we will possess in the next life. This choice vastly affects our experience, so it usually takes much thought as to what it will be. If you were obese in one life, chances are you will choose to be skinny the next, etc.
9.) Preparation and embarkation – After choosing our life path, next we meet up with our soul group, the people who will play roles in the next life, to do extensive planning and to create synchronicities and cues that will guide us throughout our life. Higher-level guides also help to plan out specific symbols we will see or hear that will trigger certain thoughts and actions at specific times. After the synchronicities are decided, we once again meet with a counsel to go over our goals and plans for the next life. This meeting is also to encourage us to have patience, to hold true to our values, to trust ourselves in the midst of difficult situations, and to avoid indulging in anger and negativity.
10.) Rebirth – Clients report traveling back to Earth through the same tunnel they left in, entering the mother’s womb. Until the age of 5, the soul is able to leave the baby’s body to travel and meet up with other souls if it wishes, but will snap back to the body if the baby is in any turmoil. During the first few years the soul will work to integrate its energy with the brain.
This outline of our experience between lives is based on decades worth of research, and like Dr. Newton and other hypnotherapists state, clients under such hypnotic states will never lie and will only describe what they are actually seeing. How is it that almost everyone who undergoes hypnotherapy or who have NDE or OOB experiences, regardless of whatever religious or cultural background they come from, report such similar experiences? Could it be merely coincidental? How is it that people recall these kinds of experiences after being declared clinically dead? These are the sorts of questions that can only be answered by the assimilation of science and spirituality. In the years to come we will witness more of this conjunction between two seemingly unrelated spectrums, which will ultimately bring us closer to an understanding of life, death, and consciousness like never understood before.

So basically, what you are saying is that, the souls are the body snatchers!
This is all rubbish. Science has proven nothing. Pseudo-“science” has smothered feces on a book cover and made nonsense up in order to try to give the “argument” relevance – which it will never get, because there is NO evidence for it.
I find “pseudo-science” to be a word so commonly throw around these days. It’s almost as if its a means to not accept what we don’t want to believe. It’s become almost a culture created by parts of the scientific community so they don’t have to accept ideas they are uncomfortable with or that are spiritual in nature. The good thing is, there are a lot of pioneers out there doing hard work to prove this stuff as best they can. ‘The world was once flat.’ I feel the same could be said when we look at discoveries like this.
Well, I don’t see value in simply denouncing it as being “pseudo-science”…one might say the same thing about the “proven-science” itself..it’s proven in a material way, being one-dimensional at best intil proven wrong over and over again…
Like Lao Tze said:
“A man may know the world without leaving his own home.
Through his windows he can see the supreme Tao.
The further afield he goes the less likely is he to find it.
Therefore the wise man knows without travelling,
names things without seeing them, and accomplishes everything without action.”
Nicely put!
Hi Hue, I was thinking about what you said and I was wondering in layman terms how would someone get that kind of evidence.? I remember reading a book as a teenager when i was trying to shed some light on my own experiences and it came with a vinyl record. A psychologist had hypnotised many people and recorded the experience. he regressed them, which i found out means they take them back through their memories to a point of birth and then go back a bit more until the time of the previous death. Because the memories go with the soul. That much I know from my own experience. I’m interested to know what you think. really! Is that kind of experience creditable as a possibility?
Oh OK then. I guess that you know it all. Thanks for the clarification butthole. The evidence that you have stated is overwhelming. You should consider a career in evidence based science.
Wait, no evidence, like Global Warming?
Hue G. Rection? Sublimate much? LOL
Science proved your brain is a quantum computer, Via Dr hammeroff, Orc R theory. And Quantum mechanics proved your conscious collapses the wave function on a particle. Meaning your thoughts create solid reality. Now, lets use some logical reasoning abilities. 2+2 = 4. Consciousness is fundamental to the universe. Tell me smart guy, what cells in your brain house your memories. I can tell you no cell does, you receive all information from the vacuum, Orc R theory. All great scientist who study science eventually come to the conclusion we are more than it seems . We are infinite consciousness having a human experience. Also Mr.Hue Learn how to Leave your body in OBEs.. We all have that ability. Convince yourself. While you fear death, I have no fear, and can give up my life at a moments notice. That’s what changes when you have your own OBEs…
Good thoughts. Thanks.
very well said.
A lot of people are “stuck” in the teachings of their religion. The “puzzle” pieces are hidden throughout the worlds religions and yes of course science. When people research and open their minds eye, they are able to see the truth. And the truth is quite beautiful.
Creator is Love, and Love doesnt torture a person forever, and in fact, Love doesnt torture at all.
Brilliant comment
Really? Science has just “proven” reincarnation? This article is absolutely ridiculous. Please stop posting articles with vastly misleading headlines, especially ones that are blatant lies like this one. What I just read is an outlandish theory with no scientific evidence to support it, backed up by what some guy THINKS happens when you die.
He is showing what thousands of people have reported after being dead momentarily, go pick one of the 5 million religions out there and stick to it. I’m sure yours will be the winner of the battle. Take care now small fry. Please leave this talk to scientists and people that want to learn what accually happens when you die instead of listening to idiots like you that BELIVE in Santa clause , tooth ferrys, Easter bunnies, and angels, gods, ect… Beat it!
Should anyone require further information on the matter, then I suggest you read ‘Proof of Heaven’, by Dr Eben Alexander. He is not what you would call a flake by any means: he is a neurosurgeon, who himself had an NDE and wrote about it. Read his words, and be amazed.
I had a near death experience at age 6, this was a fascinating article. My question is, what happens after the learning cycle is over, we keep going back to learn an master certain things..what happens next?
I’m now a 44 yr old woman. For the first 18 years of my life I was petrified of going to sleep because of the instances you describe. My first memory was pre school. In England that means I was probably around 3-4 yrs old. It was fine, I enjoyed the experience, the lucid dream before hand was the terror but I recently found out that that mother said I used to hold my breathe and she was constantly checking on me… I totally believe in something else after life because I have experienced my soul away from the physical form in which i am living now. Not to say that I am an Atheist but I believe we are Energy in motion. I believe WE are the higher being. I have not read or seen nothing to support a higher being above ourselves. We are the edge of evolution. That rolling rumbling wave of creativity of eternal life that has gone off in many directions over the millenniums
impossible to prove or disprove, science and religion need to both knock it off. its called faith. What happens after death is impossible to prove, period.
Allt that is can be measured, otherwise it does not exist…
I find this to be a bit hard to take, specifically due to the headline of the article. It would be IMPOSSIBLE for science to have currently proven anything beyond the third stage listed above since we’re relying completely on people who have apparently died and returned to their current bodes. Thus, they couldn’t have completed the rest of the stages you mentioned.
I’ve read plenty on reincarnation and there IS some intriguing information out there, but this article lost me. I’m not saying that the other stages aren’t true, we just have no way to logically prove their existence currently.
Nothing is impossible. We just haven’t found a way to prove anything yet. There are many things that people back in the day thought were impossible and then some genius found a way and everyone was shocked. With the way our technologies our advancing, I would be very careful with that word.

This is eye witness testimony, you know, the one used by the court system. Also Look up DR. Hammeroff, and Dr, Sheldon, for how our brain, and body biology actually work. Also Quantum mechanics, proved consciousness is fundamental to the universe. When you observe something, you consciousnesses make the particle solid. Look at the double slit experiment. We cant prove this article, but we can use logic, and if consciousness is fundamental to this universe, then this can be plausible. We are the universe exploring itself.
It’s a nice thought , but we will never know 100% until the time comes
Each “person” has an individual brain (like a hard disk on a computer) where information is stored, as we grow up our character is formed by our environment and genetic make up. A computer’s memory is what is “fed” to it and it functions when you plug it into a source of electricity. But, the same plug we use for a particular computer, we can use to plug in another computer, and that other one will have different information with the same electricity. Now, I’m comparing the soul with the electricity. The soul activates our body and our brain; but the soul just as the electricity has no memory. So when we die, the brain is gone, even if the soul goes on, it will only
be charging up another body and brain. So, that would defeat the idea of re/incarnation. That particular soul will be charging up a complete new model, so to speak.
very deeply analysis you have on soul. Thank you sir.
You are comparing a person and their soul to a computer that runs on electricity and has a memory. A computer with a memory was designed by human beings. People and their souls were designed by the Creator. Our souls do not live in our brains – they are part of Everything and therefore return there when they leave the body at death.
Its all bigger than us little humans and our little inventions my friend, waaaaay bigger.
Priscilla Papenfous, you are relying as a given fact that a “creator” as described by the bible has to do with our existence. I don’t see .it that way. I have a non/biblical concept of “God”. I am not an “atheist” but neither am I a “believer”. There are a lot off things we know, but so many more and more things we don’t know. I just can’t accept as “knowledge” concepts that we “assume” or are only handed down on us by traditional thinking. When I compare, it’s an analogy, or presented as a metaphor in order to make a point. We are organic computers, we copy things from nature, we watched birds for centuries, now we have airplanes. I don’t think we were “designed” , “anything” in nature will come about if the conditions for it to exist appear. The universe is constantly in transition and conditions (environment) keep changing. So life is a result of the universal law of “cause and effect” .
You’re definitely on to something here! 🙂
It brings a few thoughts to mind:
If our brain is like the hard disk on a computer, then the computer itself may be the body. But, a computer can’t express itself alone–it simply executes specific instructions. What feeds the instructions to the computer?
Those instructions are downloaded wirelessly from the soul.
Since your hard disk has limited (finite) space, your soul will transmit knowledge, lessons, instructions (aka, Matrix) to be stored in the hard disk (done through prayer or meditation and the I AM). This is important for the life of the computer (aka, your purpose in life). The soul has infinite space, but can’t experience life directly.
That’s where the computer steps in. The soul establishes a bi-directional connection (download/upload) with a chosen computer so that specific knowledge can be EXPERIENCED and EXPRESSED.
Hence the need for reincarnation. Think of it this way: your soul may want to experience life as a Mac Book Pro, a PC, and/or Smartphone.
Also! With telephones, the line that allows for communication ALSO provides the electricity to power the device. Is it possible that the power source from the connection with soul also provides for a communication platform? What else could it help with?
Is it possible to connect wirelessly with other souls or computers while using a computer? 😉
No, are memories are stored in record, all energy is conserved, the universe is a learning universe, one of self exploration. Memories are though wave forms, will always exist.
I think this is very enlightening and explains a lot. I was widowed about 25 years ago in my 30’s. I had so many dreams that my late husband was in afterwards. My son who was 12 at the time also dreamed of his fathers death a week before it happened. I have never quite been able to figure that one out other than I always had a nagging feeling that something unexpected would happen to him. Thank you for posting this.
I am a great admirer of Dr. Newton’s work. He is a true pioneer in his work in answering questions that most of us have but are too afraid to ask & find. A major contributor to humanity and helping us remember who we really are!
It’s difficult for most to fathom this article! Some of the comments I see here are rude and despising! I don’t understand why it should be difficult for people to accept another line of thought, even if it is completely contradicting their beliefs or their realm of comfort.
I have personally experienced contact with ‘people’ or souls from afterlife throughout my life. I continue to be in contact even today. I am able to obtain specific information about certain events which are about to happen in my life at some point. It’s possible that I might have higher expectations but nevertheless things that have been told to me have happened. These ‘souls’ I am referring to are of course similar in description to the ‘guides’ referered by the author in this article.
It’s not necessary for one to die or to go through NDE to experience after-life. There are people around who go through different kinds of experiences based on the choices they have made (according to this article) or the fate they have been entrusted with (This seems the more appropriate from my experience) from their time in between life.
Further, from the information handed down to me … I don’t think it is necessary for souls to group and be born again life after life together. They can be born in totally unrelated ways or in different worlds and in different forms for that matter.
But there is no way or means to prove that afterlife is possible, because it’s not something we can reproduce at will like in a laboratory setting. Each one experiences it in some form or other and the experience surrounding it is truly amazing and totally personal for someone to think about anything else, leave alone record the experience to prove a point to anybody.
For those who were not so lucky to experience or understand after-life, I have a very humble request, please do not make fun of or despise those who share their experience, because the only way you can understand this is by experiencing it yourself. Someone already made a comment, you may never know what exists, until you get there
the only thing here is this doesn’t account for the souls that animals have…those souls…who they are, why they came into our lives; and those souls…are as real as you and I. and this doesn’t acknowledge that at all in the spiritual realm and since i have a personal relationship with source, or spirit..i know animals souls are relevant…in earthly form and in spiritual form. Because i know this, and this person makes no mention of those souls i’m thinking that he has some ways to go before making up this story…for consumption.
Hey Keetah, just exploring possibilities here, I personally feel that animals have a different spiritual make up than we do in a couple of ways. Before I continue, I’m not suggesting we are not equal, as I believe we all are and we are all the same energy anyway. I feel souls re-incarnate into human bodies to have an experience so we can learn more and more about ourselves and what we are projecting. It’s like recording everything we do here and then learning from it. In that sense you would see souls an individual sparks of consciousness that remain individual in a sense until soul growth is complete and consciousness is ready to contract and expand once again. Where as with animals I don’t feel they are on a re-incarnation journey as I feel they are consciousness that is projected into a physicality and has a singular experience here on earth. This means they can still have personalities, play roles for us etc, but not be recording the entire experience so they can learn from it and come back. Thus the animal wouldn’t have a “soul” in the same definition as a human. IN the end, we are both expressions of consciousness, but one re-incarnates for growth purposes and the other is simply consciousness expressing one life and then re-projected as something else.
I have a different perspective, but along the same lines. While animals are singular in their experience they are born with the lesson instinctively ingrained. I believe the animal life of a soul is to strongly imprint that lesson that a soul is havering trouble learning. Our animal lives allow the lessons to imprint, and then it is up to us as humans to remember all those lessons and put them together. It is then that we can remain in heaven instead of returning to hell (earth, which is actually quite beautiful for being hell, but society these days keeps the golden age from existing)
When I was a young teen, probably around 15, I had the opportunity to experience a drug induced phenomena that could possibly be considered an NDE. I recall only one part of the experience which took me to what I can only describe as space, complete with stars and such. It was the most incredible, all-encompassing feeling of freedom, more difficult to really fully describe than you can imagine. One word came to mind and that was “everything”. Now when I talk about it I use that word so that my human mind has a reference that gives something to relate to but it doesn’t actually even get close to what it felt like. I was able to “speak” to my friend who was also with me in my heightened state through telepathy. I realize that many won’t believe that this was anything more than a drug induced hallucination, however I’ve taken many drugs since then, some that put me into a blackout state they were so powerful, yet I’ve never felt anything so real again. It set me on a journey of self exploration, reading articles and books on the subject, both pro and con. If there were to be what is considered “solid scientific evidence” of an afterlife, it’s pretty apparent that the skeptics would still be unconvinced. But as of right now, nobody can say for certain that my experience wasn’t real. It isn’t about belief or faith for me. I just remember.
oh, and as you talk about that, using the word synchronicty, but at any moment you cite Jung. these guys are just demonstrating the reality of archetypes! wake up!
spot on. not to mention the discrepancies in reported the NDE section of the article. I take it more as the brain using the archetypes and ways of understanding it acquired in life to try to make sense of its final moments in death.
Thats not to say however that the soul doesnt exist as a force lacking mass or would be unable to interpret information without some mass to record it on (like a brain) so to speak. afterall something had to create mass before mass existed. So to that extent I do believe in the rest of the article even though I believe the afterlife is co-created by expectation and belief of its observers as this world seems to be.
UM, its you who need to wake up. You know or you dont. Called GNOSIS. You to can learn how to leave your body to with practice in real time. I learned how to do it. I am a bio engineer. You need to be in a conscious sleep paralyses state, then leave while fully consciousness, into a the real time now world, where you project your consciousness. Where you can see your body, where you can see other living beings in the other rooms. And you can also see spirits on that plane also. Science already proved consciousness is fundamental to the universe, through Quantum mechanics, you change the experiment because you observed it. You made the particle solid from its superposition wave form, just by observing it, that’s what our consciousness is, its a energetic self conscious wave form. I am a professional Bio engineer, so help me GOD if I am lying to you people. Also, there is no cell in your body that houses memories. Look up Dr. Hammeroff work, on ORC R quantum micro tubules in the brain, your brain is quantum computer. It receives information from the vacuum switching quantum states. Also, Dr. Sheldon Morphemic fields, which determines biological morphology. These people are not Psychologists like Jung, they are top level biologist. Also Know at the quantum level, there is no TIME. Its all at once, past future, and present. You body is only a machine, but there is a driver and its you. I had over 100 OBES so far. I get better and better at it. I dont stay out long, but I am out, viewing my blue energy plasma body and the astral world. Your body is an avatar, your not even human, your infinite pinpoint consciousness having a human experience. Learn how to do it, because I would not believed this article if I dint learn how to leave my body. Once you do, you will realize we are all one, even though science proved it, with Quantum physics, seeing, feeling, experiencing is believing. We are the universe, experiencing and asking questions about itself.
reincarnation of a whole soul into a new whole body is a limit condition, that has no validity. reincarnation , exactly like spiritualism, has to do with life, not death. To understand, one has to shift to sociology and psychological sociology. Many of my university professors are “reincarnated” into my soul. this is reality, living spirituality, and an absolute truth. these kind of beliefs presented here would have been characterised by Jung maybe as projection of unconscious stuff. Here there is something important: reincarnation is not something wrong in the absolute. it is neither something true in the real material world. but the concept developed unconsciously by people, can be extracted, and used to model other things (therefore become true) as I said before, for exmaple in the context of sociology.
One shouldn’t talk about Jung if one didn’t understood Jung.
Moreover, from a scientific perspective, as the author claims understanding something to science, is actually a bunch of logical errors misleading the reader. it shows exactly how to pervert “science”, for exmaple to use the expression “science nows prooves”, which, as a matter of fact, just doesn’t make any sense…
I think you’re the only one trying to talk about Jung. You don’t have to be a Jungian scholar to discuss what you think happens after death.
I love articles likes this. It allow us to expand our thinking and consider more diverse possibilities. The other thing I do is take away the positives and work to incorporate them into my life to become a better person.
Case in point:
6) Placement… This describes the process of the feedback of personal interactions and how to treat people with more love and respect. This is my take on karmic implications.
If we dismiss these articles out of hand we lose out on a learning process.
For clarification purposes, you might want to define NDE for those of us unfamiliar with the acronym for “Near-Death Experience.” I had to google it because this article doesn’t reference what NDE stands for
Thanks for the tip! Change being made.
NDE was clarified in the fourth paragraph. But I was curious about OOB as that wasn’t clarified.
Out Of Body of course haha…
There are a lot of different types of ways in which human beings explore and attempt to understand the world around them. Personal experience is probably the one that everyone relates to the most. These experiences are true to us and can be called personal knowledge. The term science (from the old latin scientia “knowledge”) could be used this way. However, this usage is often offensive to the scientist. The term scientist (Coined from William Whewell) is actually used by the scientific community to distinguish between those who seek knowledge from purely physical things (things you can touch/ measure) and those who seek knowledge through personal experience. Although most probably everyone does a little of both.
Even if the scientist believes the personal accounts (and we have no reason not to as belief or disbelief is separate from the scientific method)… the scientist instantly recognizes the hypothesis of this article as “Do similarities exist in the accounts of persons that relate personal stories of near death experiences?” The answer (at least in the test group presented) is yes. This is very different than “Does an afterlife or reincarnation exist?”. The only thing a scientist can say this study proves is “within the test population; personal accounts followed general patterns including….” This is because the accounts are the only physical evidence within this study that are available for analysis by other scientists….
Waiting for a spirit/ afterlife/ reincarnation process to be available for direct examination…
I remember being shown things and I chose my family also.My mother was a single mother back in the 1960ies.I new her situation and chose to be her child.I also remember to being a baby in the crib…I never spoke out about this .some things were better unsaid.

Surge of neurophysiological coherence and connectivity in the dying brain
http://www.pnas.org/content/110/35/14432
quite interesting . I have more comments. But later.
Quite interesting
am finding this concept extremely interesting and an option that seems closer to my logic than any belief system/religion that I’ve looked into in the past. it just makes sense , it answers the classic, why are we here? …to evolve our souls, works for me!
if nothing else,a great read for an open mind.
do you love?
I Do!!
I see it the same way mick…. Its good to finally see how that science is little by little becoming a tool for understanding and explaining what many would term the Spiritual or the journey.
Has anyone heard of DMT? Watch a documentary called DMT The Spirit Molecule.
You will have heard that we have a Pineal gland that produces Dimethyltryptamine when we die which is one of the most powerful hallucinogens known to man.
Not to take away any comfort from people, but that is the biological explanation.
Not necessarily. I know of at least one case where a doctor was brain dead for many days. There was no brain activity, and he was artificially kept alive. He returned from his experience with a completely different view on “life after death”. You can learn more about Dr. Eben Alexander here: http://abcn.ws/1dv1KY9
You can learn about his book, ‘Proof of Heaven’, here: http://amzn.to/1dv3FvK
If a flush of DMT was the cause of his experience, I think it is fair to assume there would need to have been brain activity also.
I think it is fair to also point out that just because we can identify physical/chemical counterparts to metaphysical experiences, we can not accurately conclude that means there is a direct cause and effect relationship. To say “DMT is present in all spiritual, near-death, and out of body experiences” (something Rick Strassman’s book called ‘DMT The Spirit Molecule’ [ http://amzn.to/1dv2zAl ]) and then conclude from this “That means all spiritual experiences are caused by DMT” is logically incorrect. All it tells us, logically, is that when a person has certain metaphysical experiences, there is heightened DMT activity in the brain. End of story. We can not deduce a cause-effect relationship, one way or the other, from such an observation.
I think it is important to also consider that in actuality all perception is an hallucination. It is only when the hallucination diverges from what we collectively consider to be “normal” that we call it a hallucination, with the connotation that such experiences are somehow less real than are normal collective hallucinations. Yet the biological mechanisms involved are the same.
Simply put, I disagree that you hare presented a conclusive and valid “biological explanation”.
Is this J.G. from DRO? I know the argument style well. Nicely stated.
Proof of Heaven is an embarrassment
This lines up exactly with what James Van Praagh wrote (in 1999) in Talking to Heaven after having interactions with the deceased. There had been some speculation after that book, but it’s pretty ironic that his interpretations over 10 years ago line up perfectly with this article. I’ve just taken this explanation as truth of what happens after we die because it gives me some solace, but this article has reinforced my belief that this is what happens.
Wonderful article. Thank you for sharing!
Have you guys ever heard of Spiritism? It sounds awfully like that what was described:
I copied some info from wikipedia which, as a spiritist myself, I found to be quite accurate:
Basic tenets:
The five chief points of the doctrine are:
-There is a God, defined as “The Supreme Intelligence and Primary Cause of everything”;
-There are Spirits, all of whom are created simple and ignorant, but owning the power to gradually perfect themselves;
-The natural method of this perfection process is reincarnation, through which the Spirit faces countless different situations, problems and obstacles, and needs to learn how to deal with them;
-As part of Nature, Spirits can naturally communicate with living people, as well as interfere in their lives;
-Many planets in the universe are inhabited.
The central tenet of Spiritist doctrine is the belief in spiritual life. The spirit is eternal, and evolves through a series of incarnations in the material world. The true life is the spiritual one; life in the material world is just a short-termed stage, where the spirit has the opportunity to learn and develop its potentials. Reincarnation is the process where the spirit, once free in the spiritual world, comes back to the world for further learning.

Experience of people who died and come back may just be a way to placate people who are fearful of death. It may not be what it actually will be.
Taoist experience tell of a wholly different experience. Taoist priests seems able to transport themselves to the various astral realms to observe life after death.
Not all is beautiful and the law of KARMA is real, very real.
Fantastic book! I read it a few years ago and it has had a significant effect in my life, a lot had a familiar feel to it as if I had somehow known it already. I highly recommend it to anyone!
At the time of John the Baptist some people thought he was a reincarnation of Elijah
He ‘is.’
I think its a rip off that we don’t maintain memory of our former lives. This way we will not be prone to make the same mistakes. We would truly know who we are.
hey butch was just readin ur comment and i agree with u and we would not be makin all the mistakes yet once again really doesn’t make sense at all…
But think of it this way, in this life we remember what we’ve done and yet we still make the same mistakes over an over. I think it’s to give us a clean slate every time.
I’d like to add to the list of authors the name of Dr. Raymond Moody ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Moody ) as he is one of the founders of those studies and coined the term “near-death experiences” or NDE. His most important book is: Life After Life
Ian Stevenson ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Stevenson ) as you mentioned made a great scientifically based research into the topic of reincarnation, proving with objective data that this is a real phenomenon – he matched the memories of new born child with previous lives of their previous reincarnation.
As I read and understood the article, the ‘evidence’ from these case studies is based testimonial reports; therefore, making the evidence anecdotal. Anecdotal evidence is considered to be the least certain type of evidence out there. The key sentence in this article is the last sentence in the 6th paragraph, “while under hypnosis, it is possible for them to misinterpret something they are seeing.” To me this statement is a critical admission and shoots a big hole right through Title of the article and the argument it makes for reincarnation. I’m very much open to the possibilities, but it is going to take much more objective evidence to convince me otherwise.
Eric, I’m not sure that the ‘objective evidence’ you seek could be anymore obvious. If you actually take a step back for moment and observe the massive amount of evidence for reincarnation, and compare it to any other theory, you will see clear winner. The sentence that you targeted was not an admission of flawed evidence, but rather an observation that minor details can be lost or misinterpreted. If you read the WHOLE PARAGRAPH, you will note that regardless of what they saw, they were being honest.
The evidence is not in the details, as much as it is in the volume of consistent details, repeatedly experienced in controlled environments.
Next time you want critic an idea, perhaps you could offer some counter evidence, rather than taking one sentence out of context and simply saying, it’s flawed.
Try smoking DMT or drinking ayahuasca. I’ve had very similar experiences to those reported in this article but I’ve never had a NDE. I have however had several out of body experiences with the help of Dimethyltryptamine (DMT). I may not have been clinically dead, but i’ve definitely seen the other side and there is no doubt in my mind about this.
And what is the explanation of when/how your originate in the first place?
Unfortunately we are all (slightly) flawed when it comes to our memory, even
in a waking state, by asking the right (or wrong) questions false memories can be
created.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/False_memory_syndrome
Hypnosis can create false or distorted memories as well, the patient being unable
to distinguish dream from reality, one of the main reasons why it can not be
relied on in a court of law.
http://bit.ly/1e1XmCN
From what I have read so far, all of this regression memory therapy is example of
both above mentioned phenomena.
Considering what I have mentioned so far, How can Dr. Newton be so confident
that he can say “people under hypnosis are not dreaming or hallucinating – and in
this state they are not capable of lying.”
“While under hypnosis…., but they
will not report on anything they do not feel to be the literal truth.” Where’s the evidence for those statements˙?
The Fasle Memory Syndrome has long been debunked as a blatant lie intended to cover-up mind control experiments. Just do a little research about who started the ‘association’ in the first place.. Highly suspicious individuals!
Can we trust hypnosis? People minds are opend and they are really easy to manipulate. You can make a person to belive that he is a dog. If you ask the right questions then person says what you want to here. I don’t say that they are lying, but maybe it is their imagination, from history books, movies, other peoples stories what they have in their head and just telling. But this is something what we will all get to know when time comes.
And not a single person in the comment section got a smidgen of the concept of the book right. Its not about reincarnation, its about the process of life between lives. And commenters are bringing in hyptnosis as questionable yet fail to understand that all of the participants in the first book told the same story of the afterlife(therefore verification). Its not about former lives…….therefore it has nothing to do with past life regression.
Read the book, or at least read the article. This is not related to NDE at all, and should not be associated with it either.
LBL stands alone as the first true view in heaven……in the history of mankind. A replicatable view, regardless of religion or personal history, and that has never ever happened before.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5IhTW3-RQQ what about these stories.
I’d say the most important thing is that the memories/stories told by people going through hypnotherapy are so similar. I am a scientist and basically this is what science is about – about finding evidence confirmed by many experiments. Scientific experiments and research are based on data and statistics and it never happens that we get a result for 100% cases. It is amazing how all these people recall similar experiences and for me this is what shows the validity of the above article.
The other things is there will always ‘believers’ and ‘disbelievers’ – it is human nature to contradict. When Nicolaus Copernicus was alive and he tried to convince everyone that the Earth is going around the sun and not the other way round, as it was always believed, he was seen as a hoax. Now of course we think: how silly was that? It’s all matter or perspective and in 100, 200, 300 …years people might think exactly the same about us because spirituality will be ‘normal’ and people will finally start seeing that they’re not only muscles and bones but something much bigger and perhaps better.
One more thing – it will be very hard to measure the existence of soul because we use the wrong tools. We can’t see it under a microscope, measure it with a ruler etc. and this is why we feel so hopeless because science as we know has not been able to confirm that yet. Soul and spirituality can’t be measured in a traditional so called scientific way and therefore science needs to move on and open up to new possibilities. I read New Scientist every week and the truth is science crumbles… We don’t know where to go from here, especially in the world of physics. Quantum theory really ‘messed up’ in science, because it doesn’t agree with other theories, e.g. the theory of relativity, on which a lot of other theories are based.
Also, there is so little known about our brain that no possibility should be excluded simply because it hasn’t been confirmed by scientific world…
You claim to be a scientist, and that this is what science is about. Well, the first part may be true, but the second is not – which of course throws the first into doubt. Yes, science is (at least in part) about finding evidence confirmed by many experiments. But having evidence confirmed by experiment is not enough. I may see from many experiments that if I dip litmus paper into vinegar it turns read and when I dip it into sodium hydroxide solution it turns blue, but that tells me absolutely nothing about WHY. And this is the flaw in the reasoning, a hypothesis (Why) is posited that matches the evidence, but this is clearly not enough. At the least you need to examine whether another hypothesis could also match the reasoning (for example, consistency in brain chemistry changes near death). Until you do that, and can find evidence to dismiss one or the other, your hypothesis has only the status of “guess” – or wishful thinking. You also need to be able to make predictions that no other known hypothesis can support, and have them borne out. If you can do that, then your “Why” might make the status of Theory. There is no evidence (that word again) that either of the latter two things have been done here. So to make a claim of “Proof” is actually a flat lie.
Sounds ominously like institutionalisation to me. Would anyone actually choose to come back eg as an ‘untouchable’ living on the streets/in the slums of an Indian city, an HIV positive baby in a starving war-torn African country or a psychopath? There are a lot of undesirable lives to be had and not many perfect ones, How come so many choose opression/insecurity. If people really had a choice wouldn’t the world be full of happy beautiful people living in peace and prosperity and ‘heaven’ full of reluctant returners? Also, as the population grows where do all the necessary new souls come from?
Hi Ann, I thought of this myself and the conclusion that I came to was that at the point of decision; when we chose our next life. we are souls and not in fact “people”. I thought about what kind of decision I would make if I were an eternal soul who’s job (apparently) was to live every kind of life there was to live and to learn from these experiences (for whatever reason) it felt to me that I would chose to live even the “bad lives”.
I think you are correct David. A soul is indeed eternal but our physical bodies are not. Therefore, a soul’s “job” or you can think of it more like a soul’s “eternal goal” is expansion. Expansion is the reason why we may choose (emphasis on choosing) one life as a Butcher and then the next life as the animal at the other end of the blade.
It is all about perspective. Being omnipotent would quickly become a curse, (after a few trillion years) therefore these negative experiences become the greatest gift for an infinitely bored individual.
well we learn from pain and suffereing. If you knew that if you suffered in one life so that in the end you would be happier, would you not choose that life? Ofcourse you would. Problem is that you are just looking at one single life and not at the whole. You need to first grasp the fact that we live multiple lives and only then you will be able to undrstand why we would choose lives that are harder.
I happen to agree with the story, as I have a personal friend who has experienced NDE twice his story is very close to this artical.
Simeon bar Yochai, (Aramaic: רבן שמעון בר יוחאי, Rabban Shimon bar Yochai), also known by his acronym Rashbi,[1] was a famous 1st-century tannaic sage in ancient Israel, atributed with writing the zohar, book of Jewish mysticism. came in 1st century, details just how reincarnation works way before 17th century : )
This is more hocus pocus conjecture with absolutely zero science backing any claim made therein. Might as well believe an invisible man in the sky invented the universe.
I agree that Michael Newton’s books may come over slightly weird, or too much for the conventional person to accept. Too bad the article didn’t even mention the work of Dr. Ian Stevenson. To the skeptics, please see his work: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Stevenson#Reincarnation_research and http://www.iisis.net/index.php?page=semkiw-ian-stevenson-reincarnation-past-lives-research
Apologies, there is a mention of him in the article.
My thoughts exactly. It’s not that I don’t believe reincarnation is possible, but anecdotal reports are not accepted as concrete evidence in true science. If we get sloppy and allow anecdotal reports to stand in for evidence then every single person on the planet is right.
Can we choose ‘soul death’? The thought of more of this is detestable to me quit frankly. I’d prefer not to have to think or feel at all thank you very much. We are cleansed of ‘regret/doubt/sadness/traumatic memories’ but what about perpetual, blistering, all-consuming, bone-cracking rage?
I have to say it strikes me as deeply suspicious that therapy-culture seems to have extended its tentacles into the afterlife. So murderers and suicides are counselled instead of condemned these days? It’s all very much of a piece with a book I read a few years ago as a matter of fact [the title eludes me unfortunately]. Supposedly the first proper academic survey of spirit messages, it traced the shift from 19th century communications about society going soft and the need to show more backbone – not to mention the almost perpetual darkness that awaited suicides – to an altogether lighter, more forgiving, some might say positively indulgent, tone characteristic of modern ‘spirit guidance’.
It seems the message has been trimmed to suit the arrested mental development of our day [the British Psychological Society currently recommends we extend the definition of adolescence to 25 for example], it’s attendant psychological fragility and the sufferable sense of entitlement that blights lives everywhere, with eternal verities notable by their absence. Furthermore if people cannot lie under hypnosis does it also mean they cannot be mistaken? Why is what they genuinely if subjectively feel to be true the same as what IS true, and why such certainty if we haven’t the means to bridge that gap?
Anyway I return to my first question. Not everyone wants to come back. Do they have a choice and, if so, why can’t it include spirit death?
you have sort of condemned religion, in the first paragraph, but actually it was religion that mentioned all of this without have any hi tech facility or study based on research of such cases as inter life experiences. Read what christianity and Islam tell you in this perspective, not as a religion freak but just for the sake of knowledge and research from their holy scriputure. And also ponder as to how they knew about this. From my personal experience i would say, death may be complete homcoming to spirit world, but while we are in this physical exixtance, we still can connect with them, by adopting to various exercises, that includes certain diet, sleep patterns, prayer timings, bla bla. But yet there are cases who are chosen ones, they still get to feel the vibrations, no matter what…. love Khan
Humanity’s ‘oneness’ should not be taken for granted. The phrase itself is often sleight of hand communists [christians] employ to legitimate deracination and surrender [or outright theft] of people’s homelands. It should perhaps be clearly and carefully defined lest we fall for the idea that colonization is ‘God’s will’ and defending oneself against it somehow a sin. People differer across groups as well as individuals. Unfortunately biological truths once a staple of educational curricula everywhere are now being buried in the interests of equalitarian dogma and world government. Quite simply spiritual beings governed by biological laws while in the body have a duty to respect both. The key is homogeneity or diversity within nature. Heterogeneity is the poison, not the antidote.
Science is always changing the truth. Gods truth about life after death which can be found in the bible has never changed since it was printed. I would follow a truth that remains constant. The bible also said, there are two worlds, the spiritual and the physical. lol, scientist are just starting to discover the spiritual aspect of this life. Interesting indeed.
Science is not always changing the truth, what is happening is that we update our understanding of the truth. To say that “Gods (sic) truth … has never changed since it was printed” is simply not the case. Through the various councils in the first few centuries deciding which books to include, and which parts of the books, through translations and mis-translations, if you compare the original books with the current versions they have changed significantly. Sometimes a single letter has caused beliefs to be declared heresies – and people found out the truth about life after death sooner than they would probably have wanted to. Even if the bible had never changed, there are many reasons for books not to change. It may be that it is absolutely correct, but that is just one of many, many alternatives. Another, actually more supported by available evidence, is that it hasn’t changed because it supports a power structure that would lose out if the book were false.
can you please explain to me why when i look at anything on your page after about 20 seconds my screen goes blue for about 10 seconds then comes good? man its freaking me out
can you indicate a certified professional in this area who lives in Brazil? I’m trying to find it for a log time.
Generation after generation, lifetime after lifetime, humans have been programmed into believing that they were no more than living flesh here for a short time to struggle through life, then die and be buried. Many still believe that their only contribution is the children they leave behind, never realizing that they are deathless, birthless, infinite beings– sparks of the Divine on earth to awaken within and in spite of the denseness of duality and separation.
If humans could accept the fact that there is no end to a life that is actually Divine life, then they would understand more how evolution happens. Life is not a quick stay on earth, have a bit of fun, and then die; it is a process that happens over eons of time. You are as “old as God and as young as each new day” as said by the western mystic Joel S. Goldsmith. Hold that dear ones, hold to the truth that you can never die, like it or not, as much as you may wish to at times. You are here by choice for the long haul. Whether or not you choose to drag your awakening out for many more lifetimes, is your choice. there is never condemnation or judgement as all are moving forward at the pace they choose. – onenessofall –
How exactly did you come to this conclusion? You speak about this as though you have certain knowledge of its truth. I’d love for you to provide any proof of this claim. Remember, the burden of truth lies with the person making the claim. In this case, I’d say this claim is extraordinary; therefore it should require some extraordinary evidence to support it.
I’m intrigued to know (from point 1), how many people were interviewed who came back to life after their funeral. Clearly these fortunate ones weren’t cremated. And I’m guessing that some bell contraption must have been used so that others knew to dig them back up.
I thought the same thing but then I realized that these are probably the clients who are under Hypnosis that are regressing into their “past life” and remembering their deaths in that past life all the way to their current lives after being reincarnated.
You’re probably right, in which case, I think the scientific validity flies out the window somewhat.
The article clearly states these after death experiences were shared under hypnosis.
My dog looks lots like my grandma – on my dad’s side! She does lots of the things she used to and well, it gives me this look and stare with move of the face just like she used to hahahah i say it is possible! she came back as my dog! When I got her the strange thing is that her mom came to me with her as a puppy and insisted I kept her, even when a blind pup! and always insisted i kept that one… well, i say if true about reincarnation we can return as pets or any living form. I choose not to return. I got the answer to how some years ago I tried suicide and the secret to how not to come back! so there! the pay back is that one is part of the greater cosmos! and that is worth traveling on! cheers!
Clearly, no scientists have visited this link yet. It’s really interesting stuff, but the title is nonsense and detracts from the point of the material. No, Science has not proved reincarnation. The title begs all thinking, rational people to avoid otherwise fascinating content.
Agreed.
First of all, this article has a very misleading and disingenuous title! This ‘research’ is not proof of anything apart from how flawed the methodology used was. This is a hypothesis built on flimsy logic.. The use of hypnosis while asking leading questions is an incredibly poor source of reliable data… At it’s core it is merely anecdotal evidence that’s been interpreted through the lens of a presupposed metaphysical concept. In no way would any respected scientist deem this legitimate or even worthy of being categorized as actual science at all. At best, this is a hypothesis with very little reliable data to support it. Virtually NO experimentation or testability can yet be applied to this based on what we currently have to work with on this matter. So, until there is any way of testing and verifying any of this, the subject can only be considered within the realm of metaphysics and should not be misrepresented as anything else.
YES. Oh good gravy, yes. I’m glad someone said something like this; I was afraid while scrolling down that their wouldn’t be anyone. 😐
Can you imagine if it got peer reviewed? lol.
There is lot of EVIDENCE for reincarnation, but you cannot prove it. This is similar to law of heredity. You get some of genes of your parents, but nothing is certain. There is no certain test that will proove which genes you get and which you dont get.
Certain practices found all over the world will get you to what you call proof. Choosing of the sucessor of Dalai Lama is one such example.
To discard solid evidence and stick on to an idea is again not science. We have lot of unscientific “rationalists”.
First of all, just because you’ve asserted the evidence for reincarnation to be “solid” doesn’t make it so. Secondly, I don’t see how your analogy about the law of heredity has anything in common with the question of whether or not reincarnation is true… There may not be any experiment to prove that you will get certain genes from your parents or not, but there is plenty of solid corroborating evidence for the law itself being accurate. These are two distinctly different things.
Furthermore, you can call just about anything “evidence”, but evidence is only useful when compared to other evidence (usually of a different type) that corroborates it. If a claim has only anecdotal evidence to support it then you’ll have a very weak foundation on which to build a case. You’d need some sort of physically measurable/ testable evidence in addition to the anecdotal evidence presented by the author in order to determine something like this to be valid. Furthermore, as I’ve already pointed out, the very way in which his evidence was collected is questionable as he used a flawed methodology in the first place.
I’d love to know what “certain practices” around the world will get me proof of reincarnation — Please enlighten me. And, how is choosing the successor to the Dalai Lama in any way evidence for reincarnation? Just because Buddhists believe in reincarnation and that the Dalai Lama is supposedly reincarnated proves nothing to me, it’s nothing more than Buddhists’ assertion of truth rather than proof of it.
If there is any evidence for reincarnation that is in some way both testable and repeatable I will begin to take this sort of thing more seriously, until then I’m afraid you don’t have a convincing case.
What is unscientific about scrutinizing such an extraordinary claim?
And, yet, we can say the same thing about “God”, can we not? Believers in God always tout their “faith” as evidence “He” exists and scoff at those of us who take a more skeptical view. Both sides need to acknowledge that it’s ALL about faith.
No, we cannot say the same about God. This is because the very meaning of the word Faith (especially when people are referring to God) is believing in something despite a complete lack of empirical evidence. Applying the scientific method to any claim does not include “Faith” in any way…
Saying there is no good or obvious reason to believe a God exists is very different and certainly not on equal grounds to asserting that one does. The burden of proof falls on the person making the claim… Furthermore, if the claim is something extraordinary (like the existence of something supernatural), it should then require extraordinary evidence as proof. All I need to do is state that I have no reason to believe the claim being made for a lack of good evidence… just as I would have no good reason to believe, for example, a claim that there is an invisible Leprechaun that creates rainbows.
I don’t need to prove there is no god, that is a negative claim. As I’ve said it’s basically the same as saying I don’t need to prove there are no Leprechauns, because I’m not making a claim that there aren’t (there are an infinite number of negative claims one could make – so it wouldn’t make sense to) – It wouldn’t even cross my mind to consider the existence of a God if it weren’t for people making these kind of claims in the first place. That’s not faith at all.
It’s interesting your singlemindedness, though deceptively verbose, does not encompass people of other faiths. This speaks loudly, particularly given the strength of my faith which I will put up against yours (or side by side, as it were) any day of the week.
To trivialize what I believe, trivializes your argument for your own faith, (whatever that is). People have always found faith in something that can’t be proven, whether it’s a book of fairy tales or anecdotal evidence that life goes on after death. We’re not talking just about science here. We’re talking about a spiritual faith that something unproven and intangible exists.
You seem like an intelligent person, but appear to lack respect for differing opinions.
I’m sorry if you’ve taken my comments as a lack of respect; that wasn’t my intention. People are free to believe anything they’d like, however you challenged my position and I in turn defended it, with facts, sound logic and reason. You have again asserted that all I have here is faith, just as you do. – That is simply not the case and I intend to explain why…
You said: “We’re talking about a spiritual faith that something unproven and intangible exists.”…..
To actually believe that something ‘unproven and intangible exists’ means that you can literately believe anything, apparently based on nothing tangible or even explainable… That makes no sense to me nor should it to anyone; we don’t apply faith like this in any other domain of discourse. I’m left wondering why claims about Gods or spirits or whatever metaphysical thing being discussed should be exempt from logical reason and scientific scrutiny.
I’m not sure why you continue to claim that I have “faith” in something as if we all must have faith in something… I refuse to accept this premise. Perhaps we differ in our definition of the word faith. I’m not, for example, putting Faith in science or ‘the scientists’ – if that’s what you’re getting at. Again, to be clear, what I’m talking about when referring to faith is the belief in something without good evidence. So to say that I have faith in something in this context makes no sense. I don’t need to have faith in anything, PERIOD. I use the same system to arrive at truth in every situation – the scientific method (which is basically the opposite of faith). — That claims or beliefs should be observable, testable, repeatable, and falsifiable through experimentation. So I should be able to examine any given scientific theory and evaluate it based on all the evidence to be true or false. …Simply having Faith meets none of these requirements. Aside from the scientific method, how should a person evaluate something to be true. The truth matters to me, and for something to be true it needs to stand up to scrutiny, not fly in the face of it.
Again, you’re welcome to have faith (in whatever), and you may place a lot of value in it, but It won’t mean anything to me unless what you believe is logically and objectively explainable. Having said that, I won’t just sit back and let people make claims about anything they’d like without an explanation, that’s not to say I’m trivializing their particular belief necessarily, but I do need a reasonable explanation before I’ll accept it to be true or valid.
The reason I argue this subject is not because I just like to debate, or I need to be right etc. it’s because not all beliefs like this one are innocent and without consequence. Some beliefs are bad, especially when they carry weight in the political realm and effect society. When, for example, a religious ideology effects government policy, we need to look very closely at why people believe the things they do and not just assume that two differing beliefs are necessarily equal as you have implied in your argument. Our beliefs inform our actions, therefore bad beliefs can in effect lead to bad decisions. Moreover, even if a belief (taken on Faith) is simple and without any immediate or obvious consequence, it can still lend credence to other beliefs (also held on faith alone) that do have a negative consequence – that is the problem I’m trying to address here.
Its very true
So what happens when your brain gets destroyed? Do you still get a lil “dream” that you can tell when you wake up for the interview? Why don’t you try to sew someone back together then interview them, huh, prove that!
Fair point. I have often wondered about those who had the NDE of being told it wasn’t time for them, and then they actually did die. The functioning brain is the only way we experience anything. Once that goes… we go. End of story. The idea of having a soul is rooted in the ancient beliefs surrounding what dreams were actually about. It was another plane of existence (the land of the gods), and once the physical body died, you were left there without any way of returning, unless you believed in reincarnation.
When you say “those who had the NDE of being told it wasn’t time” do you mean theoretically or actual cases? And at what point do they die in your example?
Time is obviously not a factor in the spirit plain, so I would say the soul chooses to return to squeeze in any possible lessons before the physical body expires.
About your comment with “The functioning brain is the only way we experience anything. Once that goes… we go. End of story.”
With that, wouldn’t it be more, for lack of a better word coming to mind this moment in time I’ll say appropriate, to actually say that That is only a hypothesis as you can not be certain that That actually Is “end of story”.
I’m not saying you’re wrong, but is it not ignorant to think that That it is the only possibility?
He keeps using the word ‘somnambulistic’, but I do not think he really knows what it means.
I’m sure their habit of sleepwalking was not really the conducive character trait he was intending to condone.
I’d like to share my dream to you. Once I dreamed, I swiped my hand in the sand and a sign of cross appear in the sand. I tried again and same thing happened. Then I see it all. The doorway to heaven. People who died in this world I can see them standing in line waiting to be let in in the doorway to heaven. But each one of them has to go through judgement before they can enter the door way. I can see a black man who had died in this world. He was standing at the entrance of this door way to heaven. I told his family that he left behind, Do not worry, He had passed over. He enter the doorway to heaven.
They didn’t actually prove anything, they just stated the brain’s activity during a NDE, I don’t think any real scientist has visited this site yet, otherwise they would have proven this wrong a long time now.

When a person in his life sees light and dark , morning and evening , positive and negative , good and bad , ups and downs then why will he not see life after he sees his death , Of course every one of us see our death …, Our conscious ness is a non ending cycle of continuum in which we have ups and downs to achieve our ultimate goal i.e.., Divinity , purity , eternal love , till we have nothing to learn ….., 🙂
I’m familiar with Cannon Dolores. She also has done a great work in regression hypnosis.
how u could ever know this information is beyond me. if u want to know what consciousness is it has been defined. it deals with memory which allows oneself to establish an identity. its documented. there is zero evidence of a spirit. if u have evidence please come forward
Unaccomplished activities of past lives are also one of the causes for reincarnation. Some of us reincarnate to complete the unfinished tasks of previous birth. The is evident from my own story of reincarnation:
“My most Revered Guru of my previous life His Holiness Maharaj Sahab, 3rd Spiritual Head of Radhasoami Faith had revealed this secret to me during trance like state of mine. This was sort of REVELATION.

But through the unbounded Grace and Mercy of my most Revered Guru that desire of my past birth is being fulfilled now.”

I have also discovered the mathematical expression for emotional quotient (E.Q.) and for spiritual quotient (S.Q.).
Austrian Scientist Rudolf Steiner says,
“Just as an age was once ready to receive the Copernican theory of the universe, so is our age ready for the idea of reincarnation to be brought into the general consciousness of humanity”.
All there is is “God”, and you can name anything you want, for IT cannot be encompassed in a word or a thought and is unknowable to the limited human mind. The word “God” has a negative connotation for many. Those who call themselves atheists are often very spiritual. What they are rejecting are old concepts of God that do not resonate with them for there is no “pie in the sky” God, just waiting to bless some and punish others and they know this.
God, Source, Divine Consciousness, is all there is, and is embodied within and as you. You are its manifested expression, animals also express this life as do all living things, for It is the only life there is. Man is to recognize and protect the purity of living things which were not created to serve man’s unenlightened whims, but to manifest the infinite form and variety of Divine expression. All life is Divine, and must be recognized as such. There is soon to come a time when the hunting and eating of animals will be obsolete and considered very primitive.
You are the creators of your own experience as you interpret what is according to your state of consciousness. As you evolve more deeply into truth, interpretations and the manifestations will change, becoming vibrationally higher and higher.
You see dear ones, this is the journey, this is what you are here to do and are doing. There is no “God” to punish or to praise, there is only ONE and that ONE omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient Consciousness is manifesting Itself as you. Each new and deeper awareness of this is a step in your journey toward enlightenment. The Masters whom you love simply know this on a deeper level and are no longer hypnotized by the appearances of the third dimensional consciousness creations.

… and that is the truth my friend. I am feeling the love right now.
Thanks to the method of science, a high standard that we thankfully established, we have been able to accumulate a vast amount of facts and knowledge, and I mean mountains and mountains of it, so why should it be that a concept like eternal souls, or reincarnation, if true, should have to reckon with ALL that evidence that suggests it is not true. That anybody could comfortably ignore this fact and believe in such things is amazing to me. I guess the lord, or the eternal soul clearing house of the universe, is testing our faith again.
Exactly. It frustrates me to be perfectly honest. In this day and age with the knowledge we have access to, people continue to believe things (like this), despite a complete lack of good evidence to support it and a mountain of evidence that is in conflict with it.
I’m not trying to be mean in any way jason9107, but I think you and hoooooooman are making exactly the opposite points. I don’t want to start a fire here, but I just want to point out that I don’t believe one way or the other because I do value the scientific method, but even it is lacking in many ways. It’s value is undeniable, but one of its tenets is that it cannot explain what causes what, but rather can explain correlations and help us predict this insane world we are all experiencing. Somebody once said that in pool, when the cue ball “breaks” up the others, it may be the force of momentum colliding with the first ball and transferring that energy to all of the others, moving them across the table. Or it could be that when it gets right next to the other “God” moves them. We can observe, test, and predict, but we cannot “Know.”
I don’t take your comment to be mean at all but I don’t see how I said anything that was in opposition to the comment I was replying to, let alone exactly opposite to it. lol
Perhaps I can clarify what I said by clearing up a few things. First of all, I may have used the word ‘knowledge’ but I’m not saying that we can know anything with absolute certainty. – I was using ‘knowledge’ in a colloquial sense; I’m basically saying ‘our best understanding’ of the facts.
I would like to point out that belief is not necessarily the same as claiming knowledge of something. Knowledge is a subset of belief, – it’s like claiming absolute certainty in a belief. So you saying that you don’t believe either way because you value science is not a necessary correlation to make.
You can believe something but not be certain of it, that’s all I’m doing here. I look at the facts and evidence and make a decision on what I believe to be most likely true. There is no compelling evidence for belief in a soul, an afterlife or a god. – These are man-made concepts that stem from humanity’s ancient past.
I think it is unreasonable to consider these two opposing views as equally valid (or even in the same ballpark) since science has given us plenty of evidence to suggest that we live in a naturalistic world with no need (or reason) to posit a supernatural presence of any kind.
By the way, I’ve never heard or read anywhere that one of the tenets of science is that it cannot explain what causes what.. In fact that’s precisely what the scientific method try’s to accomplish, – to explain the natural world and the causes (and function) of natural processes. Like your misrepresentation of belief, an explanation is not necessarily accurate. – No one is claiming a scientific explanation to be an absolute fact, only that it has explanatory function, even though it still may be incorrect. But, the more evidence that corroborates an explanation, the more likely it is to be true and accurate.
I have a pretty good idea that when it comes to the pool que ball and break situation you describe that it has to do with momentum transfer from one object to another. This is well known principle of physics that can be observed and we do know it. No one has yet to observe God moving the que ball and making the break. We can observe behavior of mass in motion and the science of physics describes it well. It is quantifiable, repeatable and observable. Here is a thought. Set a que ball on the table and pray for God to move it. Then let’s see what happens. Please….No humans allowed to intervene and push the que ball.
All practicing HIDUS are brought up believing this in spirit but because of entry of more powerful cultures misleading with materialistic outlook the common man is deviating. But majority are still are inclined in original philosophy of SANATANA DHARMA.
I’m sorry but this just seems like complete insanity. You get to choose your body in the next life? You say an obese person in a previous life would choose to be skinny, etc. Well WHO would choose to live in a 3rd world nation and suffer? Why wouldn’t every single person choose to be an attractive person living in the U.S.A.? Would someone say they want to be an obsese bald guy living the Ukraine?? or a woman in Afghanistan?
Unless you subscribe to the belief of soul advancement, you’ll never understand why a soul might choose to experience suffering as part of the process.
Your living too much in physical terms my man. Its about the story, the experience, always having the best of everything does not let you grow. Picture playing a game, would you always want to play in easy? or would you some time’s want a challenge to test yourself. Its not so much insanity, its about having a deep understanding and a open mind to believe that actually everyone is different with their own story. Which I suppose is why random events happen at any moment. You can say, this cant happen because this and this wouldn’t happen but the truth of any situation and life is, the impossible will randomly surprise you.
This is what is meant by “American Exceptionalism”. To this day, I would never chose to live in the USA. I’ve spent a lot of time living and working there – enough to know that there are other places which are better. Having also spent time in many so-called “Third World” countries, I can attest to the fact that the average person is in a much better state of mind than can be currently found in the US and other Western countries – until, of course, we start bombing them. An obese bald guy living in Ukraine would be no better off than an obese bald guy living in Chicago. Heaven and Hell begin right here; it’s our choice which one we make.
Maybe its just your brain giving false memories in its trauma and actually when we’re gone we’re gone
Exactly! Which is more likely true based on the (objective) evidence we currently have?:
1. Our brain misfiring during an oxygen deprived state (which is actually observed in near death conditions) or
2. An unsubstantiated claim that we have a soul that is completely undetected by modern science and can transcend life as we know it.
Yeah…. those two concepts are logically on equal footing. lol It never ceases to amaze me how many people buy into this malarkey.
Science is still a child, fumbling around in it’s own ignorance until it finds the light of truths
We cannot take everything Science has to offer as concrete considering it’s an ever changing, transient being within itself, learning and growing as we do
Lemme ask you something, for your first point stated, is all of this a symptom of that, or is that a necessary and calculated symptom of the former? It can go both ways, my friend
Oh and remember that quantum physics was considered “witchcraft” (take that as an allegory) to the scientific community. That it wasn’t possible. Look how far we’ve come with that
🙂
I’m not sure exactly what your point is here. – Are you implying there is some other equally or even more reliable way of examining reality than the scientific method? Sure, science is always changing, but it’s almost always building on previous understanding (usually just adding more information to the greater pool of knowledge or refining our current understanding)… It’s not as though the scientific world is turned on its head ever couple of years, starting from scratch as soon as new data is collected… No one is saying that what science has to offer is “concrete”, – I’m certainly not, but I would love to know what method you’d suggest we use to assess what is real from what is imaginary if it’s not science.
People love to bring up how Quantum Physics are strange and mysterious as if that somehow validates other weird and mysterious ideas. That would be what we call a non sequitur. Much of what Quantum Physics deals with is experimental, incomplete and is not well understood by other highly intelligent scientists that aren’t within the field itself. So it’s not at all surprising that most people would consider it to be bizarre at best. So what, It has no real relevance to this discussion.
As far as my first point was concerned: While I agree that it’s not an impossibility that it could ‘go the other way’, I’m saying it’s extremely unlikely. My intention was simply to point out that those two competing idea’s should not be considered as equally plausible, in fact I would argue that it’s not even close. It’s just a common sense approach to apply Occam’s razor to something like this. There is no empirical evidence to show that reincarnation or ‘the soul’ is real (or necessary to life) let alone plausible. I would even argue that if ancient humans hadn’t dreamt any of this stuff up we wouldn’t need to have a discussion about it in the first place.
I’m always left wondering why people feel the need to heap a bunch of extra nonsense on top of what can be confirmed through repeatable observation and tested to validate or falsify a claim. The only answers to this question that make any sense to me usually involve gullibility combined with misinformation or just some good old fashioned wishful thinking.
The time to start believing in something is when you have a good reason to do so. You may consider the concepts in this article to be reason enough, I don’t.
Is there an accounting problem with this theory? In 1800 there were 1 billion souls in the world today there are over 7 billion. If this theory is true where do all the new ones come from? Deaths can’t supply the influx of new souls. I’m certain there is a good explanation.
Each incarnated being is an extension of its own Oversoul. One being’s Oversoul can project many simultaneous aspects of itself (referred to as “past lives”) on the Earth at the same time. In other words, you have many other existences on this planet and elsewhere but your Consciousness is only aware of this existence. Some humans are aware of themselves in other dimensions. Note also that there is no past, present or future outside of the Earth’s matrix consctruct. Everything is happening simultaneously in the ever present, eternal NOW.
Interesting, how exactly did you come to know all of this? You must know that aside from anecdotal evidence or some sort of subjective experience (which is useless without corroborating evidence) what you have here is conjecture and nothing more.
Let’s be clear about something here… this is not a theory (at least not a scientific theory); it’s barely a hypothesis.
A scientific theory is a well-substantiated explanation of some aspect of the natural world that is acquired through the scientific method, and repeatedly confirmed through observation and experimentation….
And…. For a hypothesis to be a scientific hypothesis, the scientific method requires that one can test it.
Interesting article which possibly has a grain of truth, but I am sure that the reality is far more complex than this article suggests.
What doesn’t make sense is why this happens.
I guess I’ll have to wait until I die to find out! 😉
Reincarnation is something real which science cannot prove.
Just like you cannot prove that the universe is infinite or that we are not someone else’s dream.
Think about it 🙂
The definition of real: ‘actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact; not imagined or supposed’.
“Reincarnation is something real which science cannot prove.”…..
Not only can science not prove reincarnation, it can’t so much as observe it, so how can you possibly make the claim that it is real?
“Just like you cannot prove that the universe is infinite or that we are not someone else’s dream.”
There is an almost infinite number of (nearly random) things or ideas you could say cannot be proven. So what, that lends absolutely no credence to whether or not some other specific thing exists. The only way to determine if something exists (in reality) is for that thing to be observable, testable, repeatable and falsifiable… A.K.A. the scientific method; it’s the only reliable method we have for determining if something is real or manifests in ‘reality’.

Why wouldn’t science be able to prove reincarnation?
I think that’s rather the point of what all these scientists are doing. They are proving that large amounts of people around the world share experiences regarding death. I’ve read quite a bit of this literature and there is plenty of proof. It is for instance very common for people who have had near death experiences to have information about our physical world that they could not have gotten through regular means. The consistancy of the phenomenon itself is enough to prove that we are talking about a shared experience that has nothing to do with cultural expectations. At the very least its proof that the materialist and reductionist world-view held by many scientists and skeptics is insufficient to explain the facts.
The problem with science is that a good amount of people equate science with philosophical materialism, which is just a belief, rather than just the method. The scientific method can certainly be used to prove things outside of that materialistic framework as this article shows.
“The consistency of the phenomenon itself is enough to prove that we are talking about a shared experience that has nothing to do with cultural expectations.”
No, it’s not enough to ‘prove’ anything of the sort. Anecdotal (subjective) evidence without a single shred of corroborating empirical evidence is nearly USELESS in science, even if we have a bunch of consistent stories. There is no way to falsify each individual story, nor is there a way to confirm them or even test them.
We need not stop there though… We could, and probably should, but we won’t. 😉
It’s not hard to show how one could collect so many seemingly consistent stories when you start looking at how the data was gathered in the first place. What we find is a combination of hypnosis (which has been shown to be flawed on its own), leading suggestions and confirmation bias. Here’s an example of the heavily suggestive technique Michael Newton uses to guide his hypnotized subjects toward a presupposed belief… from his other book based on the same premise “Life Between Lives”:
“You are now fully in a soul state, directly connected to the highest consciousness of your mind, which is like a vast computer holding all the stored knowledge of your entire existence. As an eternal, timeless being, you will remember incredible details about your immortal life between lives, and thus you will be able to respond to my questions about your life as a soul quite easily…….”
….It goes on like this for a few more paragraphs..
That is what I call a contamination of the data.
“It is for instance very common for people who have had near death experiences to have information about our physical world that they could not have gotten through regular means.”
What information about our physical world cannot be gotten through regular means?? I don’t understand what you mean.
Beliefs held for bad reasons can be benign on their own, but our beliefs inform our actions and when we are willing to believe something for bad reasons we open ourselves up to believing other things that may be damaging to us or others. I’m not exactly sure why some people prefer to believe in the soul and or an afterlife. Perhaps it gives them comfort, or maybe it’s something else, but I’m willing to bet that if everyone alive knew for sure that this was the only life they had to live they would behave in a better way in this one. This idea that we go on life after life seems to me like nothing more than wishful thinking. It has no basis in science since there is absolutely no good evidence to support it.
like religion the more you ask for proof the more ludicrous the theory becomes.
death is an ending.
i suggest you live life knowing at least that.
Absolutely. I see the world in a rational way, and don’t expect to be bailed out of tough situations by some outside force. I’m never surprised in a negative way, I know who I am and do not constantly have to judge myself based on some idealistic standard of goodness, and I don’t re-evaluate my morality (or lack-thereof) every time something bad happens to me, I learn from it and move on. And I’m going to burn in hell for all eternity because of this?
WE ARE WHAT WE PLANNED TO BE, BUT IN THIS LIFE WE DON’T KNOW WHERE OR WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF WE DON’T PLAN AHEAD SO MEDITATE AND ASK YOUR GODS SOULS FOR DIVINE CLARITY THEN YOU WILL BE GUIDED TO WHERE YOU WANT TO BE
This is a cycle of life and some of us we are awake and our mind is to open and help other souls.

I believe the current scientific paradigm doesn’t recognize the spiritual dimensions of life. We’re told that we’re just the activity of carbon and some proteins; we live and die. It has all been worked out in the equations. In all directions, this outdated paradigm leads to insoluble enigmas, to ideas that are ultimately irrational. But knowledge is the prelude to wisdom.
A classic example; before humanity had ventured around the circumference of the Earth, we initially thought that our planet was flat. Remember that? There are already theories and some scientific evidence that points to the existence of the soul, and, in relative terms, reincarnation. Einstein said, “Energy cannot be created or destroyed.” – does that statement not apply to all forms of energy? The human soul is another form of energy that scientists know nothing about. We’re lacking the proper scientific equipment to have had tested many theories, and the science community would never invest the time or money into comprising anything to do so. In addition, our world would consider it nonsensical for a legitimate scientist to experiment with parapsychology. In any of these situations, it seems the arrogance we have in our beliefs is crippling us. There are a lot of things we cannot explain or see – but that does not mean necessarily mean that they do not exist. Science is still an imperfect form of analysis. We are not all-knowing and perfect beings. We’ve only been using electricity for two-hundred years, while humanity has already existed for more than two-hundred-thousand wandering around in the dark with torches. We still have a long way to go from here as well.
Aria, obviously you need to learn some history and definitely not from your school books. In ancient Greece science, technology, mathematics, etc. were thriving…..I assure you they knew very well that the Earth was round. Eratosthenes (c.276-194 BC) actually did measure the circumference of our planet to be 24,700 miles. Today, modern instruments estimate the distance around the equator to be 24,902 miles. It also known that electricity was produced 3.000 years ago….
I have got the same thing as Vertigo to say. Just brush up your knowledge on history. Some parts of Europe and Arabia ‘believed’ earth was flat. Rest of the world [yes it did exist then too, before columbus and de Gama] KNEW earth was round and many other things.
the vedas have described a heliocentric universe and round earth almost 15000 years ago all of hindu astorology derived from rig veda manusmriti from aryabhatt and parasara and vishwamitra have documented exact calcutation of a round earth inlcludign its age to 4 billion plus years which western science proved recently from dating the remains of the comet that fell in colorado usa
would we be able to remember who we are now in the new body after this one after death. if its posible to live after this life. theres no doubt that we go somewhere after death but would we rebirth afterwards in a new body, like some kind of reincarnation. this is all very interesting things that this page talks about the processes and everything its just very amusing to me. what i want to know is what’s the reality of everything, the universe’s truth, is this all like some kind of sick alien game or what is it? answers…. and also changing the world somehow to be in power of all that surounds us. i write this to express things and to motivate others to question and make the world a better place. and stay always alert . always.
What if you dont want to come back. What if you just want to stop existing. No consciousness. Nothing. Do you get that choice? I dont want to come back for more loneliness and fear. I want to not exist.
I think at some point during this “mortal coil” we have these thoughts, I know I have. But at the point of death, when it’s either all over, or a new beginning, you can choose to “not exist” in the same context again. You now know what pain and loneliness are, and may choose to not go through it again, or if this is all we have, this life, you will cease to exist.
I will say this, once I gave away the loneliness and fear that I have had, I did cease to exist, as a fearful and lonely person. I believe every one of us has something to share, however minute it may seem to you, you as a person, as a physical being have had to have had an impact on someone, somewhere.
I can understand if you are reluctant to “put yourself out there”, but in a way, you already have, by making that post, and by me responding to it. Open yourself up to more possibilities, and make the decision to make the change you need to NOT live in fear and loneliness.
It’s simple, you may want to not exist in this life. But in your next life that feeling might not be there. Either way,you don’t get a choice on the matter. You exist, whetever you like it or not.
Electricity was never made first of all. It has always been. However the actually use of it, the ability to harness it and incorporate it into our lives, was only a little over 200 years ago. Which I’m pretty sure is the original poster was talking about. Not sure where your getting 3000 years buddy. But we did not use electricity and harness it 3000 tears ago.

This word and the word ‘FAITH’ is a bit overused IMHO.
The other day one of colleague started to explain me that the great Pyramid of Egypt was built by advanced civilized people which vanished. ( destroyed by asteroids). What the person tried to convince me was that those people were super human or no human could built such a structure. All are kind of imaginative hypothesis similar to the soul hypothesis. There is no scientific or logical explanation .May be someday we will know. KCDas
Yeah but did your colleague gather information and data from thousands of people from all around the world to formulate his “imaginative hypothesis”?
These researchers have documented people’s memories of past lives, rebirths, and experiences from all over the world and they all seem to match up. Could it be a coincidence? Perhaps. Is it likely? Doubt it.
In my previous birth I was a recognized Guru/Saint. In my present birth I am not a recognized Guru/Saint. It makes no difference as is evident from statement: ” I was also a Spiritual Leader in my previous birth. I was the Fourth Spiritual Leader of Radhasoami Faith from 1907-1913. My name was Kamta Prasad Sinha. In this birth too I am working like an Spiritual Leader. I have discovered mathematical formula for Spiritual Quotient and for Emotional Quotient. I have given a definition of mind for scientific study. I have developed Gravitational Force Theory of God. All these are necessary for the establishment of Universal Religion for which I am actively working.”

If soul has choice to fate why would one prefer a life with ill fate.
to make your soul stronger
Are souls weak, fragile? please share what you know? Why do they need to get stronger? Stronger in which way? Is there a point when a soul reaches an acceptable state of being in which it doesn’t have to go back and experience life in a body?
Souls have experiences not because they are weak, but because they need to learn. In order to grow wiser they need to have all manner of experiences, including the bad ones. It is from difficult and trying circumstances that we learn the most. After you have learned as much as you need to learn, you no longer need to incarnate (although some masters still do, in order to teach and help).
The article states the people studied were people who had near-death experiences. These people of course came back to their own bodies. So I don’t get where you where you have any proof of re-birth.
Did you miss the whole part about hypnosis? Thousands of people were hypnotized and all spoke of the same visions and memories of rebirth and past lives. This was from all around the world so it cannot be only mere coincidence that all the stories line up.
It is interesting that you wrote – “It becoming knowledge that the major religions were used as a control mechanism to manipulate the masses through the use of fear.”
I am claiming that the science is also controlling masses through the use of money power. All of math and physics are wrong. Take a look at some proofs of this assertion here – http://theoryofsouls.wordpress.com/category/a-ch1-truth/
I hope you will not delete the message for some reason.
It is my understanding that when we ‘die’ the body goes back to nature as they are both part of the material illusion. We ourselves are of a spiritual nature and return home on our being re-absorbed back into the Oneness of the Source from which we originated. Our brains are not actually ‘us’ at all. They are utilised by the spirit in much the same way that we are using our computers right now. The computer isn’t actually part of us, but it is enabling us to communicate. Our bodies, in turn, are not actually part of us, but are needed to navigate through the illusional notion of everything being separated into countless beings, objects and elements, that we are currently inhabiting – and mistakenly believing to be ‘real’.
As we are born out of the illusion (not ‘into’ – think about it) with no guidance whatsoever beyond those who are already trapped within it, taking it to be ‘real’ – and the one and only ‘real’ there is – is an easy thing to do. Not so easy to undo, but not by any means impossible.
Our big problem is that back in the mists of long-passed time we have somehow forgotten what we truly are. Bodies are not needed in the spiritual Oneness of Reality. By Oneness, I mean simply that. Nothing is separated, All is whole, complete, eternal, infinite, unlimited and unchanging. The perfect opposites of a perfect separation – beginnings and endings, good and evil, birth and death, day and night, left and right, up and down, etc etc, only exist here within this experience. Oneness, being eternal, has no beginnings or endings or opposites of any kind. No opposites = no conflict. All is one and one is all. I know it is not an easy notion to grasp fully at first, but that’s because the mainstream thinking of the world is so opposite to the Truth, as one would expect in a world like this. One of chaos, as opposed to Reality’s total peace.
Spiritual and unseen, peace, joy and happiness are enveloped within the Oneness of the Source. Perfect Love, its total Truth currently beyond our understanding, is the only Reality. Having said that though, God, or the Source’s, world of Oneness is detectable here even though it is unseen. Things from His world cannot be given away, whereas earthly things can. For example. if I give a person my hat, I no longer have a hat. In fact, if I give away anything from the material world I no longer have it. But if I give a person Love, Joy and Happiness, all things from the unseen Oneness, I not only still have them myself, they are multiplied many times over. This is because in the unseen world of Oneness, everything is one and giving is the same as receiving, just as having is the same as being. In the world of Reality, there is no lack at all.
The way out is forgiveness in the form of realising that we are all inhabiting what amounts to no more than a chaotic nightmare and that nobody has actually done anything or committed any crime whatsoever. The Truth really does set you free.. A nightmare is only a nightmare until the dreamer awakens.
Research indicate there is life after death. “There is no conclusive evidence to prove that there is reincarnation. But 68% of 500 hundred odd people with rebirth symptoms remembered their past”, According to Dr. Satwant K. Pasricha (1998) of the National Institute of MentalHealth and Neuroscience, Bangalore, India
I have also past life knowledge. My Guru of past life His Holiness Maharaj Sahab, the 3rd Guru of Radhasoami Faith REVEALED to me that I was Sarkar Sahab, the 4th Guru of Radhasoami Faith in my previous birth
Does anyone find it odd that everyone was famous in their past life?
If a person goes through a past life regression and comes out with a story about being famous in a past life that regression was not done correctly. Out of the 7000 clients that Dr Micheal Newton had worked with only one had a minor note in the history book of Literature as a poet. Everyone else was for the most part just ordinary people in there past lives. No one special as you would expect. BTW TNI protocals are very explicit in not leading the client. I would suggest reading Journey of Souls to learn more.
Wel said my dear friend
we are 1
Wel said my friend
we are 1
Well, to me, reincarnation is inevitable. Once one dies, his/her soul travels to the other body (the baby) where no distances matter, due to the total difference between the physical and spiritual worlds. We, as human beings, are born and reborn. This means, the population on Earth is constant and the number of souls (in bodies) are all constants. We are part of this ever renewable nature. I believe in a perfect God of perfect creation that keeps nature (including the sun and all) and humans all alive and renewable. As for Hell and Heaven, I believe in the Last Judgement in which all human beings are to be judged for they have done throughout all these centuries of life (And afterwards, hell and heaven are eternally selected according to each one). We are all a part of a cycle and you as a reader would have been my dad or grandma or friend (or whoever) in our past lives.
P.S.: Religions are one of the numerous and primitive types of tribal survival; we still all living by the Law of Jungle. God is real and religions are not.
Ask yourselves this question people? Would you rather take the chance and not believe in GOD and HIS WORD and possibly suffer the consequences or take the chance in believing in GOD and HIS WORD and live in paradise with HIM? What do you have to loose??? Have an open mind and heart and give the BIBLE a chance. There you will find all your questions answered…
”Ask yourselves this question people? Would you rather take the chance and not believe in GOD and HIS WORD and possibly suffer the consequences or take the chance in believing in GOD and HIS WORD and live in paradise ” i know one thing i refuse to live in a belief system just drove by fear . if fear for hell is all that is making me ”believe”in bible then i m sorry i wont live as a slave,i will rather use my brain and not live as a slave .
Reincarnation was removed from the bible hundreds of years ago.just google it. The good you serve today was made by man in man’s image.
If Pascal’s Wager is the source of your faith than your faith was never very strong .Belief in this is a ridiculous fallacy. All you’re doing is hedging your bets.
Hi Glen, admirable comments, but murderous members of IS behead aid worker Alan Jennings, a guy that was simply trying to help people, and they too still expect to go to ‘paradise’. Or stoning a woman to death for being raped, or throwing a gay man from a roof top? Yes, of course that’s gonna happen !!!!
How does one choose to believe something? Personally, my beliefs aren’t chosen, they exist based on all I’ve learned and experienced.
All your questions answered? In the Bible? Wow! That’s a stretch
How sad to believe that this is the only life we have. Once your dead your dead. “The dead know nothing” as some religious groups believe. What is the purpose of ad hearing to rules, laws, moral codes if there is no consequences? Organized religion was formed to control the masses through fear. In ancient times, people had no fear of dying as they believed they would be reborn. To tell people this was not true and they would go to hell for not obeying instilled fear…thus..religion was born…and still practiced to this day. I have had a near death experience and I have “channeled” people from the other side…something I don’t seek out..just happens and it’s usually to ease the grief of those I am around. People also need to understand that while the Bible tells the truth, it’s not ALL the truth. So much was left out. It’s a history of one group of people. My mom died 3 weeks ago.She was ready at 90 and her body was giving out. While I have a strong spiritual belief and know she is surviving on the “other side”, as a human, I grieve deeply at her not being here physically with me. I grieved so deeply that I couldn’t “hear” her. My son brought this to my attention. This made sense. So while I was driving back to her house, I put aside my grief and heard her tell me to have my daughter bake the apple pie in her freezer. I had totally forgotten about that!. As I was going through her stuff…I heard her tell me “throw that out”, “Get rid of that”..I was not ready to get rid of this and that and I told her so. So..non believers, I feel sorry for you. There is another dimension that we go too after this life…and it’s not Hell. You will be held accountable for your actions in this lifetime…and what ever issues you didn’t resolve here, you will carry into the next lifetime to resolve. Possibly the people you hurt in this lifetime, you will receive that same hurt in the next. Life is a school and it’s hard. Read Many Lives Many Masters by Brian Weiss MD
