The Earth’s atmosphere is made up of 21% oxygen. Over time this percentage has been very slowly declining, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels. In major cities, this percentage can be even lower, due to the harmful effects of pollution.
Recently the Guardian newspaper in the UK published an article titled, ‘‘Nearly 9,500 people die each year in London due to pollution – study.” Pollution is deadly and we are all breathing it in no matter where we live in the world. Check out this article to learn which are the world’s most polluted cities.
We are witnessing worrying increases in human illnesses due to the lower levels of oxygen at the cellular level of the body (called hypoxia). Examples include breathing related disorders, asthma, COPD; fatigue disorders, ME, CFS; sleep disorders, etc. With this in mind, it seems safe to assume that none of us are regularly breathing in good quality oxygen like we need to be.
Healthy Oxygen Levels Vital For Good Health
Oxygen is essential for cellular respiration in all mammals (including humans) and without it, we would die. The body uses the oxygen in the cellular mitochondria to help generate something called adenosine triphosphate (ATP), which is the body’s “energy currency” and essential for our bodies to perform their day to day tasks and all normal physiological functions.
Current Oxygen Therapies Available
This article explores some of the Oxygen Therapy treatments which are available for when there is a shortage of oxygen in the body.
Various supplementary treatments are available and are flexible enough to be used in hospitals, the user’s home, or by portable devices, and we will look at some of these treatments here.
Oxygen tents were once commonly used in oxygen supplementation, but have since been replaced by the use of an oxygen mask or nasal canula, fed by a bottle, cylinder, tank, or concentrator of oxygen at various levels of purity, regulated to the user’s requirements. This can be used in a hospital, at home, or even on the go.
Hyperbaric oxygen chambers increase the air pressure and the percentage concentration of oxygen, and can provide a short increase in the amount of oxygen being sent to the body. There are different views as to how many times this technique can be used, due to the principal that the oxygen is being “squeezed” into the body under an increased pressure environment. Certainly there are positive benefits when used in a managed situation.
Home Oxygen Therapies
The remainder of this article looks at Oxygen Energy Therapy, provided by a small number of vaguely inter-connected companies.
The concept of this treatment has been around for 25 years, pioneered by Tony van der Valk and Jorg Klemm. Apart from aesthetics, their original machines have not changed a great deal and are sold by the companies Airnergy, Valkion, and Eng3.
Airnergy is the market leader, and has a number of different machines to choose from. However, these machines are made in Germany and quite expensive, selling in the £3,000-£10,000 (US $4500 – 15,000!) range, which is far beyond the reach of most individuals. I’ve been looking into a home oxygen machine myself, to help treat my Chronic Fatigue, and have found it very frustrating that I would literally need to get a loan to pay for the equipment.
Valkion machines are made in Sweden, look like the old Airnergy machines, and again sell for thousands. This is Tony van der Valk’s old company, but the products do not appear to have progressed much in recent years. They probably still maintain a connection with the Airnergy company.
Eng3 machines are made in the US, and while they did have a commercial relationship with the Airnergy company, I believe this has since dissipated. Again their machines sell for thousands.
It must be said, who can really afford any of these? I’ve found that the people who need oxygen the most are usually unable to work to afford to buy a machine!
Good News For Limited Budgets
SOE Health Ltd and their small machine, the SoeMac, is the newest product which I am personally excited to tell you about. The SoeMac is made in the UK, costs £350 +vat (£419), and comes with a 30-day money back guarantee, so you can buy it, use it, and send it back for a full refund if not completely satisfied. This seems like a great risk-free option. There is also a 2-year parts warranty.
When I spoke with the owner of the SoeMac, Neil Stentiford, he explained to me the concept behind the product.
We did research on the concept of the existing Oxygen Energy machines, and concluded that in most user circumstances they worked, but were so prohibitively expensive that people would never get to use them. So, we commissioned Jorg Klemm, and a German engineer, Mike, to design us a machine that was much smaller than the existing machines, could be used at home, and didn’t require the use of a mask or nasal canula. And the cost needed to be just 10% of the existing products. The SoeMac was born, and is now available to everybody. Suggested use is to run it each and every night in the bedroom. Just plug it in and switch it on.
Soemac has been working with a number of the UK’s leading universities, and hope to run a formal study on copd patients in the fall. Neil tells me that they see benefits in approximately 95% of copd sufferers and 90% in people with asthma after using the SoeMac for 4 weeks. These are truly exciting results. Benefits include: clearance of mucus, better breathing, better quality of sleep, and increased energy. Check out some of their impressive trials here. This study is for ME sufferers.
70% Success Rate For The Soemac
Separately they have supported an informal study on ME/CFS sufferers in the Nottingham area, and the results are looking very promising, with 9 of 13 sufferers showing some benefits after 10 weeks using the SoeMac. This aligns well with Neil’s historical observations, where they see benefits in approximately 70% of this group of people, though it often takes longer than 4 weeks for those benefits to become apparent, due to the complexity of the conditions being treated.
Impressive Testimonials
According to customer testimonials, many other conditions are improved after use of this machine. Some of these stories are available to read on various websites. My two favourites are:
Mary: http://www.soemac.com/soemac-saved-life/ and
Andrew: http://www.soemac.com/copd-sufferer-andrews-story/
These are quite astonishing results, and if you can get even a fraction of the benefits they have enjoyed, it is surely worth looking into.
A Suggested Treatment For Cabin Crew And Regular Flyers
In March of this year, I wrote a story about Areotoxic Syndrome, which is a serious condition affecting many people (especially Cabin Crew) who fly regularly on certain types of aircraft.
Regular flyers and crew tend to suffer from “mysterious illnesses” which can often be linked to concerning levels of organophosphates present on planes. And this is not to mention the fact that, of course, air quality in planes is much lower than on the ground. Taking this tiny machine with you is highly recommended to help put healthy levels of oxygen back into your body while flying.
Oxygen Therapy Often Ridiculed by Medical Community But Alternative Health Fields Highly Recommend It
Oxygen Energy Therapy has yet to be formally acknowledged and approved, existing in the world of complimentary or alternative therapy treatments, but it is clear that there are many people who have enjoyed the benefits, and I have not found any reports of negative effects to health.
With the money-back guarantee, this is a treatment to be seriously considered.
Have a read about how the Soemac works: www.soemac.com
Shipping: It’s free in the UK and any country that has a distributor, but is otherwise £9.99 (approx $15.50 US) in Europe and £19.99 ($31.30 rest of the world).
While Neil from Soemac kindly sent me one of the machines to try, this article is not affiliated.
